Holistic fuzzy logic methodology to assess positive energy district (PathPED)

Climate change is a global emergency and cities need to be reinvented in view of minimising their footprint profiling. Under this scenario urban planners, engineers all the professionals involved decision-making process new tools able provide holistic flexible perspective. The PathPED methodology provides approach that, on one hand, uses agent based fuzzy logic define transition scenarios, other an assessment districts terms commitments adopted under Paris agreement, that is: increase renewable, energy efficiency carbon neutrality. scenarios are defined by five smart agents (buildings, vehicles, lighting, photovoltaics geothermal) which develop Positive Energy District (PED) for 2020, 2030 2050. A transient simulation used assess performance PED yearly monthly balances, ESS footprint. Results show decisive inclusion renewable sources (100%), complete electromobility, substantial improvements buildings required comply with highly ambitious European agreement.
